How my business runs on seven agents
One founder, seven agents in Slack, 50+ processes. Who takes what, what I decide, what it costs and where it broke.
I run O-CMO, a marketplace of fractional CMOs, without employees. The routine of the business sits with seven AI agents in Slack. I built them myself and I run them myself.
The setup
Each agent has its own channel and its own area. They work with Notion, the inbox, the CRM and LinkedIn. All of them live on one server that costs $30 a month, so they work around the clock, not only when my laptop is open.
Who takes what, and what I decide
| Agent | Takes | I decide |
|---|---|---|
| WesSEO & website | Weekly SEO analysis, briefs, articles and updates, WordPress drafts, GEO report. | What we publish and what goes live. |
| SashaSales | Qualifies leads and runs the deal from first reply to contract pack. | Pricing, terms and every external email. |
| OscarOps & finance | Inbox triage, launch calendar, finance cycle and reconciliation, contract drafts. | What we pay and what we sign. |
| CleoSocial media | Channel review, topics, copy, carousels, metrics. | What goes out and when. |
| NoraClient accounts | Runs the client relationship after the contract is signed. | Communication and terms. |
| EmmaEmail | Weekly newsletter, email sequences and campaign analysis. | What goes to subscribers and when. |
| TheoInfrastructure | Diagnostics, updates and incidents, so it all keeps running. | Which changes go into the system. |
Together they carry the routine in more than 50 processes: mail, deals, social media, content.
A morning with the team
Every morning each agent comes with a report, and one item in it is always the same: what it needs from me. Sasha waits for my decision on deals every morning. The agents do the work, and running them is my job every day.

What it costs
My subscriptions come to $422 a month.
- OpenAI, the main model for my agents $100
- Anthropic, the backup model and my own work in Claude $100
- Hetzner, so the agents work around the clock $30
- HeyReach, LinkedIn outreach and the inbox for Sasha $59
- Fireflies, call transcripts $29
- ElevenLabs, the voice for my reels $40
- Zernio, publishing $20
- Loom, screen recordings $10
- Notion, processes, CRM, databases $24
- GitHub, code for the website and the system $10
My own time is not in that number.
Where it broke
An outreach run found no new leads and, under the default rule, wrote nothing. From the outside that silence looked exactly like a run that never happened. The status of the previous run showed a second problem: CRM cards were created, the campaign stayed in draft and nothing went out.
Since then every agent reports after every run, including the empty ones. The full note →
What stays with a person
The positioning of my Instagram account wasn't written by an agent. Once a week I set the angle and priorities, approve or send back what the agents prepared, and write each correction into the instructions so the mistake doesn't repeat.
What I expect from an agent is a morning report: what's done, what failed and what it needs from me.
Where to start
Pick one process you repeat every week. Write four lines: who owns it, what goes in, what should come out and how you'd check the result. If you can't fill all four, the process isn't ready for an agent yet. If you can, that's the brief for your first pilot. Check your process in four lines →
